About United Soccer League

The United Soccer League ("USL") is one of the most prominent Division II professional soccer leagues in the world, with over 30 markets across the United States and Canada.

It is the only lower-division soccer league directly affiliated with Major League Soccer.

The League's foundation and long-term stability is rooted in its strong local ownership which features owners of NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and European soccer team owners.

The USL Season runs from March to October. Las Vegas aims to begin play as the League's 33rd market beginning with the 2018 Season.

Ownership

Founded by Las Vegas resident Brett Lashbrook & his family, Las Vegas Soccer LLC was formed with the goal of bringing pro soccer to Southern Nevada. Lashbrook's ties to professional soccer in this country run deep having served numerous roles within the business operations of the sport across numerous markets. This includes serving as Chief Operating Officer for former United Soccer League & current Major League Soccer club Orlando City, as well as Special Assistant to the Commissioner's Office & Legal Counsel at Major League Soccer's headquarters in New York City. Lashbrook has further served as a consultant on multiple soccer projects across North America & Europe involving ownership transactions, new stadium developments and professional sports expansion club launches.

Frequently Asked Questions

We need to finalize our Cashman Field lease agreement with the City of Las Vegas at the July 19th City Council meeting. Click here to see a copy of the agenda item.

Yes! Our goal is to make an official announcement in mid-August featuring our fans, local dignitaries and the USL Commissioner.

We live in the second-largest metro area in the U.S. & Canada without a professional soccer team. (Detroit is the only larger city without a pro soccer team either.) And we have a rich history of supporting soccer events, including a nearly sold out Sam Boyd Stadium earlier this year for the Mexican National Team versus Iceland mid-week match. Soccer has grown at an amazing clip in recent decades and markets across the U.S. (both those larger and smaller than Las Vegas) have repeatedly demonstrated strong support for their local pro soccer teams. We believe Las Vegas is well overdue for having a team to call our own.

Cashman Field is located in downtown Las Vegas and will feature over 10,000-seats for soccer. The stadium will be shared with professional baseball & professional soccer for at least the 2018 season after which the Las Vegas 51s baseball team plans to move to Summerlin. At which point the owners of USL Las Vegas are committed to converting Cashman Field into a "soccer-specific" stadium featuring additional seating capacity and fan amenities.

We think it's perfect for us. It has over 10,000-seats, is located near bars, restaurants and nightlife, has ample parking and is configured perfectly for a full-size soccer pitch. We couldn't be more excited to make downtown Las Vegas the home for professional soccer and the best home pitch advantage in USL.

Yes. It is done in multiple stadiums across the U.S. currently, including with Major League Baseball's New York Yankees and Major League Soccer's New York City FC sharing Yankee Stadium. Numerous other minor league baseball & USL Clubs share facilities, including in Reno, Louisville and Tulsa.

No. The USL Las Vegas Club has committed to removing the baseball pitcher's mound and installing a temporary grass surface over the baseball dirt infield for all matches. This will make for excellent sight lines and overall fan experience for soccer matches.

Yes! Click here to place your $20 season ticket deposit. Fans will be given choice of seat selection in the order we receive their season ticket deposits. And, don't worry, in case you change your mind (although we don't know why you would!) – all ticket deposits are fully refundable. We're fans ourselves so we know sometimes things happen (like you have to move out of town or you break-up with your girlfriend, etc).

USL Las Vegas will be obsessed with the fan experience, starting with offering all fans the opportunity to submit names for the Club. It's happening fast - click here to give us your ideas! Suggest Club Name

The pool of available professional players across the globe is vast. USL Clubs' roster are populated by a combination of international players, former American college stars and Major League Soccer reserve squad level players. We plan to additionally hold local tryouts due to our belief that there are additional high quality level of players developed in Las Vegas.

Yes. We are strong believers that our match day experience must be authentic and reflect the myriad of soccer cultures worldwide. We want to turn Cashman Field into a home that is unique among traditional American sports venues. This includes dedicated seating sections featuring fans that wish stand all game while incorporating drums, flags, banners, smoke bombs (with safety precautions taken), etc. Our only requirement is that the Supporter Section is "open to all" fans above a certain age and provides an environment that respects that families & children are sitting in nearby sections. To sign-up for season tickets in the supporter section, click here.

No. Our Club's vision is to grow the sport of soccer locally with a focus on the professional level. We are supportive of all local youth soccer clubs & organizations and the roles they each play in developing the sport, but we do not intend to affiliate with any specific club(s) and/or run youth soccer tournaments.

It only helps! USL is the only league affiliated with Major League Soccer -- and numerous of its recent expansion clubs have been "elevated" from competing in USL. The USL Las Vegas Club is fully supportive of the City's continual efforts to seek a MLS Club in the future and believes that the success of USL Las Vegas will be key to making this long-term aspiration become true. Below is a list of current MLS Clubs that were previously a lower-division level club: Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps, Montreal Impact, Orlando City and Minnesota United. Further, of the markets that MLS is currently evaluating for its next round of expansion, include several current USL Clubs such as Tampa Bay, San Antonio & St. Louis.

Yes. Our aim is to turn Cashman Field into the home for all forms of professional soccer in Las Vegas. In addition to USL home matches, we anticipate hosting a variety of other domestic and international soccer exhibitions.

Yes. We our offering internship opportunities for select front office positions (e.g. Public Relations, Ticketing, Marketing, etc.).Click here to see currently available employment opportunities.
